STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Time commitment – 6 hours/week

Description: We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator Volunteer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to build relationships with community organizations, schools, and stakeholders to enhance STEM Canada’s visibility and impact. This position requires strong networking skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to fostering community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Design and implement comprehensive community outreach strategies to raise awareness of STEM Canada’s programs and initiatives. Identify key community partners, organizations, and stakeholders to collaborate with.
•	Establish and nurture relationships with community organizations, schools, and local leaders. Act as a liaison between STEM Canada and the community to foster partnerships and collaborative opportunities.
•	Plan and execute community events, workshops, and informational sessions to promote STEM Canada’s programs. Ensure that events are well-organized, engaging, and effectively showcase our initiatives.
•	Develop and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and social media content, to increase awareness and participation in STEM Canada’s programs.
•	Coordinate and manage outreach campaigns to target specific communities and demographics. Track the effectiveness of these campaigns and adjust strategies as needed to achieve outreach goals.
•	Collect and analyze feedback from community members and partners to assess the impact of outreach activities and identify areas for improvement. Use this feedback to refine outreach strategies and enhance community engagement.
•	Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partnerships, and event outcomes. Prepare reports on outreach efforts and provide regular updates to the STEM Canada team.
•	Keep up-to-date with trends and best practices in community outreach and engagement. Recommend and implement new approaches to improve outreach effectiveness.

Requirements:
•	Proven experience in community outreach, public relations, or a related field, with a strong understanding of outreach strategies and best practices.
•	Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with diverse community members and stakeholders effectively.
•	Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan and execute multiple outreach initiatives simultaneously.
•	Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to create compelling promotional materials and effectively present information to various audiences.
•	Passion for STEM education and a commitment to supporting STEM Canada’s mission through effective community outreach and engagement.
•	Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity with social media platforms and outreach tools is a plus.
•	Ability to engage with a diverse global audience and work within a multicultural environment.
