STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

We invite you to showcase your skills and make an impact by volunteering for 4 months on our exciting new STEM Canada YouTube channel project. As a valued member of our team, you’ll collaborate with talented professionals, contribute to innovative content, and build a portfolio that stands out in the industry. Location: Remote
Time commitment – 6 hours/week

Description: As a Legal and Compliance Specialist for STEM Canada, you'll be responsible for ensuring that all video content adheres to copyright laws and YouTube’s policies. You will also manage contracts and agreements and address any legal issues related to content creation. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in legal and compliance matters who want to contribute to a meaningful project.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all video content complies with copyright laws, YouTube’s policies, and other relevant regulations.
Handle contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to content creation and brand partnerships.
Address and resolve any legal issues that arise in the production and distribution of content.
Monitor and ensure adherence to YouTube’s policies and best practices in content creation.
 
Requirements: 
Familiarity with copyright laws, digital media regulations, and YouTube’s content policies.
Experience handling contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance and address legal issues effectively.
Clear and effective communication skills to collaborate with the production team and handle legal matters.
