Survey Specialist (Volunteer)

STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Time commitment – 6 hours/week

Description: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Survey Specialist Volunteer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys that support the evaluation and improvement of STEM Canada’s programs and initiatives. This position requires expertise in survey methodology, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to gathering and utilizing feedback to drive program success.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Develop and design effective survey instruments that capture relevant data on program effectiveness, participant satisfaction, and other key metrics. Ensure that surveys are clear, unbiased, and aligned with organizational objectives.
•	Oversee the distribution and administration of surveys to targeted audiences, including students, educators, and stakeholders. Manage the survey process to ensure high response rates and data quality.
•	Collect, analyze, and interpret survey data to generate meaningful insights and trends. Use statistical methods and data visualization techniques to present findings in a clear and actionable manner.
•	Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on survey results, including key findings, recommendations, and implications for program development. Communicate results effectively to various stakeholders.
•	Continuously monitor the effectiveness of survey processes and tools. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the accuracy and relevance of survey data.
•	Work closely with program coordinators, educators, and other departments to understand their survey needs and provide analytical support. Ensure that survey findings are integrated into program planning and decision-making.
•	Keep accurate and organized records of survey instruments, data, and reports. Ensure that all documentation is accessible and up-to-date.
•	Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in survey methodology and data collection. Recommend and implement new tools and techniques to enhance survey effectiveness.

Requirements:
•	Demonstrated experience in survey design, data collection, and analysis, with a strong understanding of survey methodologies and best practices.
•	Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret survey data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
•	Proficiency in survey tools and software (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, Qualtrics). Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS) is a plus.
•	Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to present survey findings clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
•	Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple survey projects and meet deadlines.
•	Passion for STEM education and a commitment to supporting STEM Canada’s mission through effective survey research and analysis.
•	Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is preferred.
•	Ability to engage with a diverse global audience and work within a multicultural environment.
