STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Location: Remote 
Start Date: The position requires immediate filling.
Time commitment: 6 hours a week

Description: As the Video Editor for STEM Canada, you will be the visual storyteller who brings our educational mission to life. You’ll play a key role in shaping our video content strategy, turning raw footage into captivating videos that educate, inspire, and engage our global audience. With your expertise in editing, motion graphics, and creative direction, you’ll transform ideas into dynamic visual experiences that make complex STEM concepts accessible and exciting. This role demands a blend of technical skills, creativity, and a passion for impactful content creation. Key Responsibilities:
•	Assemble and edit raw video footage to create compelling and informative videos that 
        capture the essence of STEM topics.
•	Choose appropriate video clips, audio tracks, and background music to complement the 
        script and enhance the storytelling.
•	Incorporate visual effects, transitions, and graphics to elevate video quality and engage 
        viewers more effectively.
•	Perform color correction and adjust audio levels to ensure optimal sound and image quality 
       across all videos.
•	Work closely with producers and content creators to ensure video edits are in line with the 
       overall vision and objectives of the STEM Canada YouTube channel.
•	Offer creative input and ideas to shape the overall video strategy, helping STEM Canada 
       reach new audiences and deepen engagement.
•	Keep up to date with video editing software, tools, and industry trends to continuously 
       improve and refresh video content.

Requirements:
•	Expertise in using video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar 
      software.
•	Solid understanding of editing techniques, video composition, and storytelling principles to 
      create engaging and coherent narratives.
•	Ability to maintain a sharp eye for detail, ensuring high-quality, polished videos that meet 
       both technical and creative standards.
•	Capability to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple 
      tasks and revisions.
•	Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team, receiving 
     and integrating feedback smoothly.
•	Knowledge of basic audio editing, sound mixing, and syncing to enhance video production 
     quality.
