Vision: A diverse and inclusive Canadian society where immigrant newcomers and socially disadvantaged are supported and fully integrated into the mainstream.
Mission: ECSSEN strives to support Chinese immigrant newcomers and socially disadvantaged to merge into mainstream society by providing nourishment, mental health support, and training opportunities.
Values:
Accountability - We are accountable to all stakeholders in honestly and prudently utilizing financial, human and property resources to advance our strategic purpose and mission.
Compassion - We are compassionate about serving immigrant newcomers and socially disadvantaged to help them flourish and become fully engaged members of a diverse and inclusive society.
Collaboration - We value collaboration and team work both internally and externally so that everyone has input in how we accomplish our work.
Diversity - We respect and embrace individual differences and strive to capitalize on our diversity in delivering our programs and services.
In our process of providing career training for new immigrants and socially dis-advantaged to merge into mainstream society, we have identified several other barriers. Among them, food insecurity and mental health issues are important barriers that are usually underestimated. We developed a holistic approach to overcome these barriers by providing healthy food, mental health support, and other social service along with career training.
We have over 1000 volunteers to manage and support our programs. Most of our volunteers are our clients. They join our volunteer teams due to the massive impacts to the communities and huge benefits of they experienced themselves as clients.
