Hope (Resource) Navigator

Role Description: Hope Navigator Volunteer

The Hope (Resource) Navigator Volunteer at Starlings will support the organization by conducting environmental scans, tracking key data, and helping to gather insights through surveys. This role is essential for identifying resources and services that benefit youth affected by a parent's substance use, helping ensure that Starlings can stay up to date on relevant supports to share with our peer families.

Key Responsibilities:

-Environmental Scan: Research and identify local services and programs related to youth mental health, addiction support, and family services in Alberta.
-Data Tracking: Maintain and organize information on community resources and service usage through Excel spreadsheets, ensuring accurate and up-to-date tracking.
-Survey Coordination: Assist in designing and distributing surveys to gather data on the needs of the Starlings community and assess service gaps.
-Resource Management: Help create a comprehensive resource library by compiling information on services, organizations, and community supports.
-Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with Starlings team to report findings and offer suggestions for partnerships or resource improvement.

Qualifications:

-Comfortable with Excel spreadsheets and data management.
-Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
-Knowledge of Alberta’s social services landscape or eagerness to learn.
-Strong communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
-Social justice orientated with an understanding or eagerness to learn of anti-carceral approaches to support
