Adult Day Program Volunteer

Adult day Program volunteers engage with older adults, diagnosed with cognitive impairments, potentially in the mid to late stage dementia.  As a volunteer in our club, you will be co-facilitating all the fun and exciting activities with our club members in small or large group settings.  What kind of activities do we enjoy at the club?  Bingo, of course, is a favorite.  We also love music and singing along to various artists from the 1940’s to the 1960’s such as Vera Lynn, Elvis Presley or the Everly Brothers.  We have fun exercise programs and physical games such as mini golf, basketball and bean bag toss.  Our club members enjoy spending time doing crosswords and other word games, puzzles, cards, baking and horticulture.  Who wouldn’t want to join in on the fun!!!!

Volunteers must be over the age of 18 (no high school Community Service Hours), be able to commit to at least 1 year of volunteering, provide 2 references, a police check with vulnerable sector search and show proof of a negative 2-Step TB test.  Virtual and onsite orientation is provided.

We have 4 Day Programs located in Burlington, Oakville and Mississauga that are open Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
