Record Keeping: Ensure full and accurate accounts of all organizational receipts and disbursements are kept. Compliance: Ensure all government filing requirements are observed, including financial reports, tax returns, and audits. Banking: Act as a signing officer for cheques and other disbursements, with another officer. Budgeting: Plan and keep track of budgets within the organization. Leadership: Chair the fundraising committee and address financial matters to the board. Skills and Qualifications: We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about making a positive change in the community and possesses some or all of the following: Experience: Experience in finance, accounting, and/or bookkeeping is required. Previous board experience is an asset. Education: Post-secondary education in finance or accounting is beneficial; a CPA designation is a definite asset but not required. Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and strong computer skills. Personal Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills. Time Commitment: This is a working board position, and we anticipate a commitment of approximately 4 hours per month. This includes attending board meetings and fundraising committee meetings, independent work between meetings, and organizational activities. Location: Remote in Saskatchewan How to Apply: If you are interested in leveraging your financial expertise to support our mission, please send a cover letter and resume outlining your relevant experience to hemosask@gmail.com by January 8, 2026. Applicants will receive an email throughout the process about their status up to two weeks from the posting close date. A criminal record is required but does not need to be clean.
