Volunteer Opportunity: Support Daily Food Rescue Efforts 

Help us fight food waste and feed our community! 

About the Role: 
 We’re looking for Food Rescue Driver Support Volunteers to assist with our daily food rescue pickups. You won’t need to drive, just bring your energy and willingness to help lift, sort, and organize food donations from local grocery stores and community partners. Your efforts will directly support our kitchen and community meal programs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Help load perishable and non-perishable donations (and occasional non-food items) into the van 

Return to the Food Hub at Squamish Helping Hands to unload and weigh donations 

Sort food for the Kitchen or Market and separate compostable items 

Assist with managing waste (compost, recycling, and landfill) 

Schedule: 
  Shifts available daily from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 
 Volunteers can join us once a week or more often, depending on availability. 

What You’ll Need: 

Ability to lift and carry boxes 

Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing 

We’ll provide you with a volunteer t-shirt! 

 Rescue Driver. No previous experience is necessary—just a positive attitude, teamwork, and a desire to make a difference.
