Meals on Wheels Volunteer

The Meals on Wheels program delivers affordable, nutritious meals to community members who are homebound and unable to prepare food for themselves. This service not only ensures that people receive healthy, balanced meals but also helps them maintain their independence and connection to the community.

In 2024, our amazing volunteers delivered 2,768 hot meals through this program! Beyond delivering meals, volunteers take a few moments to check in on clients, share a friendly conversation, and brighten someone’s day. For many recipients, this short visit is one of their few regular social interactions, and it truly makes a difference.

What You’ll Do:

Pick up meals at the Food Hub and deliver them to clients’ homes

Offer a warm greeting and a quick wellness check during each visit

Ensure meals are delivered safely and on time

Report any concerns or changes you notice about a client’s well-being

What You’ll Need:

A reliable vehicle and cell phone

A friendly, compassionate attitude and comfort interacting with people from diverse backgrounds

When:
 Mondays & Thursdays, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Volunteers can choose to commit to a weekly or bi-weekly shift, depending on their availability.

Why It Matters:
By volunteering with Meals on Wheels, you’re doing more than delivering food, you’re helping nourish both body and spirit. Each visit is an opportunity to show care, foster connection, and ensure that no one in our community feels forgotten.

Volunteers are reimbursed for costs such as gas, and full training and support are provided.
