Board Member with Legal Expertise for a Registered Charity

The Kaleidoscope Mental Health Support Society is seeking a dedicated individual with a legal background to join our Board of Directors. Our organization is based in British Columbia and is committed to building a sense of community through peer support.

As a board member, you will provide valuable legal insights, assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and contribute to the strategic direction of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about peer support and interested in making a meaningful impact within our community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel on governance and regulatory compliance matters
- Assist in reviewing contracts and agreements
- Participate in board meetings and strategic planning sessions
- Contribute to policy development and organizational risk assessment

Qualifications:
- Legal professional with experience in nonprofit or corporate law
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and fiduciary responsibilities
- Ability to commit 5-10 hours per month

Certification or Education Required
Legal Expertise: A law degree (LL.B, J.D.) and experience practicing law, particularly in nonprofit, corporate, or contract law.
