Horse Handler Volunteer: Be the Link Between Our Horses and Participants!

As a Horse Handler Volunteer at Robinson Outreach at RiverCross Ranch (ROARR), you’ll play a crucial role in the success of our programs for both youth and seniors. You’ll be responsible for preparing and handling our therapy horses during Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort while helping participants connect with these incredible animals.

Horse handlers assist by leading horses during sessions, ensuring the safety of our participants and horses, and providing support to our facilitators when needed. Your calm presence and knowledge of the horses will help create a safe, nurturing environment where participants can learn, grow, and build confidence. From assisting our EAL facilitators, to connecting our horses to a senior, we aim to provide the experience of therapeutic power of equine interaction, your role will be essential to making these moments happen.

Whether you’re experienced with horses or eager to learn, we offer training to equip you with the skills to work alongside our gentle herd. By joining our team as a Horse Handler, you’ll not only help care for the horses but also support transformative experiences for both youth and seniors, enriching lives through the magic of human-horse connection.
